Questions & Answers
Your questions, answered honestly.
Straight answers about cost, technique, recovery, and what makes Dr. Boren different.
Can wisdom teeth removal really be easy?
YES — it can! Our unique gentle approach, plus sedation, makes the entire procedure completely painless. You won't hear us talk about how fast it will be over with, but we can reassure you that with our sedation it will feel like it never happened — no matter how long or short. We've found that speed isn't the answer to comfort. However, gentleness to the bone and tissue surrounding the wisdom tooth is an important factor, and gentleness and speed do not go together. You'll certainly feel the difference in your recovery. And when you're happy — and you will be — so are we!
Why are your fees so affordable?
Dr. Boren has been a trusted, safe, and gentle general dentist in St. George for over 30 years. Experience is key to successful wisdom tooth removal. In oral surgery there are many surgical skills required in many types of procedures. Extraction of wisdom teeth, from an experienced practitioner, is a relatively easy task in the field of oral surgery — and therefore the costs should not be extreme. Why overpay for quality wisdom tooth removal?
What's the difference between fast vs. gentle?
There are basically 2 different approaches to wisdom teeth extraction. One approach is fast and the other is slower but gentle. When sedated, all treatment "seems gentle" because you aren't aware of the procedure — and nearly every practitioner will assure gentle care. But truly gentle wisdom tooth removal means less bone removal and less trauma to the bone and gum tissue. This approach prevents and virtually eliminates dry socket, "chipmunk cheek" swelling, and other problems that cause unnecessary discomfort afterward. Many offices claim their fast "speed" right on their website. Speed is not a good thing when removing wisdom teeth.
What exactly is included in the $799?
Everything. All 4 wisdom teeth removed in a single visit, a full exam, digital X-rays, IV sedation, and TLC — including reusable ice packs sent home with you. No hidden fees, no surprise bills at checkout. We use the best techniques and supplies for the procedure and the sedation. We never take shortcuts and it shows.
Can I get other dental work done at the same appointment?
Yes! We add tremendous value by doing other dental work while you are already asleep — at no extra sedation fee. Whatever dental work you want done, we can do it while you are sedated. No referrals to outside offices, no starting all over again. Dr. Boren has been providing this service for over 30 years.
